
The Black Belt pre-test will be held Saturday, September 11th, starting at 10am. If you are testing, please be sure you are at the Auburn Martial Arts Center school no later than 9:45am.
In order to qualify for testing, besides permission from your instructors, you must have prepaid your testing fees and submit your Black Belt essay. See below for essay requirements and topics.
On the day of testing, your should arrive in your running shoes and comfortable running clothes. The run will be taking place on a course prepared within the school's neighborhood and start promptly, so don't be late.
After the running portion of the test, you will have time to change into your formal white uniform.
The remainder of your test will include physical fitness (situps and pushups), your forms, your 10 self-defense demonstrations, test sparring, and board breaks. Speak with your instructors to confirm you have all of your material "ready to go".
Over the next couple of weeks, you should be completing your Black Belt Essay. If you are testing to earn your First Dan (first degree), you should write on the topic "What Does Becoming a Black Belt Mean to Me". If you are testing for Second Dan, your topic is "What Does Taekwondo Mean To Me"
If you are 12 or under, your essay should be two full type-written pages (double spaced). If you over 13 or older, you should prepare four type-written pages.
Be sure to bring a printed copy of the essay with you on test day.
You must attach two (2) ID size (about 1" by 1") pictures of your face. These are used for your new UWTA Black Belt ID.
