Keep Practicing During Your Downtime

Students are always encouraged to practice their Taekwondo material during their free time, especially now since Auburn Martial Arts Center has temporarily closed due to the recent coronavirus outbreak. Luckily, there are many ways to continue training and stay in shape during this break. If you haven’t already, now is a great time to get started! To practice and review forms, Mr. Diaz recommends looking up the name of your poomsae online to watch and follow along. It is also important to stretch and warm up every day. Run through all of your material for testing, including one-steps, sparring combinations and if possible, test sparring. Some other things you can do include trying out new sparring techniques, practice basic moves, and work out with drills we have done in the past. Auburn Martial Arts Center’s strong-spirited students know that this break will not prevent them from keeping up with their Taekwondo practice. Now is a great time to perfect your material for the color best testing and spring black belt test once they get rescheduled.
